Importance of Child Psychology

We are a group Health Activist and trainers committed to helping Families stay together, heal, grow and move forward. Everyone needs a little help now and then - and sometimes it’s an entire family. When parents struggle, kids are impacted and when kids struggle it can shake an entire family. We serve prenatal, post Natal, toddler and infant development and nutrition, Child and Teen mental health and nutrition.

We can facilitate your child understand and express their emotions in a healthy, positive way. Emotional development highly informal social development.

This is true because the way a child feels, understand, and express their feelings has a direct impact on how they interact with other people.

Mental health disorders in children are generally defined as delays or disruptions in developing ageappropriate thinking, behaviours, social skills or regulation of emotions.

These problems are distressing to children and disrupt their ability to function well at home, in school or in other social situations.

Things that happen in life can disrupt emotional health. leading to strong feelings of sadness, stress, or anxiety. Even good or wanted changes can be as stressful as unwanted changes.
These things include:
  • Having a long-term physical illness
  • Having a parent who has had / going through mental health problems, problems with alcohol or has been in trouble with the law
  • Birth of a new brother or sister.
  • Experiencing the death of someone close to them.
  • Having parents who separate or divorce
  • Having been severely bullied or physically or sexually abused
  • Change of School, City, House
  • Acting as a care giver for a relative, taking on adult responsibilities
  • Having long-standing educational difficulties.
  • Living in poverty or being homelesss
  • Experiencing discrimination, perhaps because of their race, sexuality or religion

  • Learn about the illness.
  • Consider family counselling that treats all members as partners in the treatment plan.
  • Ask your child's mental health professional for advice on how to respond to your child and handle difficult behaviour
  • Enrol in parent training programs, particularly those designed for parents of children with a mental illness.
  • Explore stress management techniques to help you respond calmly.
  • Seek ways to relax and have fun with your child.
  • Praise your child's strengths and abilities.
  • Work with your child's school to secure necessary support.
